Mero Euta Saathi Cha - an entertaining fare. (REVIEW)

-
Mero Euta Saathi Chha (Romantic-drama)
Cast: Namrata Shrestha, Aryan Sigdel, Jiwan Luitel, Ashok Sharma, Zenisha Moktan, Sushma Karki
Director: Sudarshan Thapa

High on hype, high on substance as well! That sums up Mero Euta Saathi Chha , directed by debudant Sudarshan Thapa. One has witnessed romantic sagas since time immemorial. But Mero Euta Saathi Chha has a new language, a language that's even more hard-hitting when compared to its predecessors. And, of course, it's ingenuous as well. A saga of two friends Jai (Aryan Sigdel)and Shikha (Namrata Shrestha).Mero Euta Saathi Chha is all about hope and love, and hope never fades and love never dies.

Coming into story Mero Euta Saathi Chha begins with a young guy from a multi-crore family -Jai (Aryan Sigdel) who is freak in nature, thinks like a richie spoilt kid, but as compared to other he is no way different when it comes to heart, friendship and undyeing love. The story also tells a tale of a young sweet girl - Shikha (Namrata Shrestha) and her waiting for her childhood friend. What they both share is that when it rains they love to dance remembering the steps they did during their childhood with their closest friend.
As Jai turns 21 and is all excited that he will be inheriting his ancestral property, he gets a rather rude shock when he finds out that there are some pre-conditions he must meet to inherit this property. So, to fulfil them he goes back to the village where he spent his childhood and accidentally meets Shikha again. Then a change comes in him and the story that follows shows the revelations that will change their lives forever.

The colourful yet unexpected game of love and death begins!

The initial reels are easygoing. The storytelling is ordinary and the pace is just about okay. But the film gathers momentum once the two friends discover the tragic and disturbing death reality. And the narrative gets even more interesting when the friends' love bloosm in the mist of doomfate and tears.

Coming to the permormances : Namrata Shrestha enacts her role to perfection. A controlled performance, the actor takes to this complex character like a fish takes to water. She underplays her part with admirable ease. Aryan Sigdel is excellent as this cute spoilt lover. His looks, emotions, body language gels well with h is role. His scenes with Namrata Shrestha towards the latter part of the film are refined. Jiwan Luitel is a revelation, though in a brief role . The new kids on block Sushma Karki looks pretty and is noteaworthy. Zenisha Moktan is strictly okey.

The one performance that may surprises you is this lad Dayahang Rai. It's a performance that is a cut above the rest. A celebrated performance. This actor is a must watch in coming days. He seems to have prepared for the character, bestowing it with finer nuances. The usage of the slum dweller's dialect and the intonations give his character a vividly distinct look. A performance that merits the highest marks!

Writer Subash Sing Basnet has taken both story and screenplay from a
Korean flick 'A Millionire's First Love.' Mero Euta Saathi Chha,
borrows each emotions from this Korean film [2006; Hyun Bin , Lee
Yeon Hee ] .

Debutant director Sudarshan Thapa proves his meat from his very first outing. He makes a confident debut in the form of Mero Euta Saathi Chha. A stylishly narrated tale, the film will win plaudits and reap a rich harvest at the box-office for its hard-hitting presentation.
The sequences are never seen before in Nepali film.

The cinematography by Rajesh Shrestha and Purushottam Pradhan is top-notch, infact very superior.

Music by the duo of Sugam Pokhrel and Bipin Karki is good to ears. Though the music could have been much better.
Choreography by Reenasha Rai is a cue to 80s and 90s hindi romanatic sagas. There's noting we haven't seen earlier. Sometimes we feel like seeing rather a music video. Not everybody is a Saroj Khan or a Farah Khan, darling. Very DISAPPOINTED!

The background score by Tsujil Karmacharya has a feel that is so LUSTY,mesmerising and hummingable.

Though the movie is heavily inspired by MILLIONIRE'S FIRST LOVE ( Korean Film), it's a good entertainer, especially for those who look new change Nepali cinema. For those who love romantic dramas.
