Despite having so called censor hassles DAS DHUNGA has finally managed to hit the screen, with an overwhelming audience-response. We ,the DAS DHUNGA team are thankful to all those who have smesed, email-ed and chatted over their voices. I'm getting constant calls from friends and relatives to share the National Award winning Experience of the concerned associates of the film. So here it goes...
Nimesh Shrestha (Best Editor ): When they called i won for the best editing category; i felt an ache in my stomach. Aba EXPECTIONS badne ta vaigayo film ko lagi....But truly speaking, we all need to learn a lot from the mistakes we've made in DASDHUNGA. Definitely not the best of our works but will be remembered the most.
Anup Baral (Best Actor) : It took almost 2 years for the film see its day light. No price for guessing, I'm obviously happy that jury appreciated my work. All accolades to entire team.
Dayahang Rai (Best Supporting- Actor): When i was offered the role at the first place, i told my dialogue writer (Kumar) that this film will either make or eliminate my career , and today former rules. Since they have started National Award for the first time; I'm happy i got it. It's VERY special .
Apil Bista (Jury Award): To be honest this is something unexpected happened to us. We never started the film with any love for awards and since we have done in non-commercial way, how anyone could ever of getting any. But finally, We got not one or two but 4 national awards, and that includes a special jury award. Emotionally we are drained because the film took our 2 years in a slot .Film banauna bhanda chalauna garo yaar..maile ta aba banaudina bhanne nai sochya thiye...Censor ko lafada ta chadai thiyo.. But still i'm going nowhere and promise to continue make films which i believe i must make.
