GREEN CARD CALLING

Housefull Cinema is really a big station to write what I like but I get confused with every passing freak issues thinking what to write next and what to deliver for my valuable readers. But when it comes to the work, there's not any execuses for quality, so this time also get ready to toss your head with me, I know after finishing this once , You'll totally be in deep-thought and throw your angers in our comment box. Come join this ride.

(This column is totally designed with honest intentions, no biased ideas are served so we hope u'll get the general idea of our motive.)

Karna Das: I really don't know what to say. what do u say about someone who gave the meaning of life to you (think Zindagi ko Ke bharosa) and a wholesum of pretty painful songs? Karna Das is one and will always be unmatched for the kind of song he gave to us. The most sought-after-voice of Narayan Gopal, disappeared from the show. The man who made us to feel from the heart everytime we heard him,Karna Das,has moved to an unknown crowd of money, lavish dinner, & club life. First as a vocalist of 'Madhyanna' and followed it up with the hugely successful 'Vetiyera', as a last count. He charmed listeners with his way takes on human foibles. And then there was his music. You can't call the words in his songs over-rated. They were always casual, things that occur in real happenings. And he kept his vocal heart touching too.

I always associated Karna Das's music with my growing up years: the age of innocence, idealism & a belief in family as a cohesive unit. And i'm forever reminded of the evocative lines'Purano Dunga Paani ko Chal Paar Garu Kasari' though he himself couldn't cross the tide of poverty in his own country. Some people just have that knack of leaving an impression. Best of luck Karna Das i'm sure he must be counting the dollars there (U.S.A), dizzy with laughter.

Sanjiv Singh: For me he was different, extra ordinarily talent. A club singer raised the bar and appeared as a breath taking singing sansation, that was a different story now. The industry had found a talent in Sanjiv Singh. But the industry's shining armour left it's country and flew off to U.K as soon as he got the required attention. Am I wrong Mr. Singh? or Do you have your say?

Tragically, we have lost our faith in Sanjiv Singh, the industry has lost a very competent and well- known singer who had his own style of singing, & had the power to give life to words. He was a fine composer too.He used to sing like painting in the sky. When I read his recent interview in babbaal Talkies, it totally up- seted me to have known that he will never be back on the job he's been known for, singing.

I first noticed Sanjiv Singh on a national t.v, playing his hit number 'Chulesima'. Then I hurried & buyed C.D of it. It was a kind of drug to me ,after i heard 'Chulesima'. Sanjiv Singh became housrhold name. He gave us varieties of compositions-Chulesima, Sanu ma, Ramailo cha yo saaja,Mayalu lai maya garda, Meri maya, Aaune bhaye aau, - the list is endless and you can't stay avoiding any. With each compositions he ruled my heart. I can honestly say Sanjiv Singh gave me therapy via songs.

I still recall Sudip asking me to write introduction of his interview, that's very in Babbaal now. Whenever I listen his music I still wonder wether I really heard the music or did Sanjiv Singh make them therapic way.

I've been writing Freak gossips and such topics irritates me. Everyone has his own life. They can live the way they like. There are few who stand by their country in any coming situation. Sanjiv Singh is out of this picture. Let's hope that he has all the pounds there. God give us the courage to bear the loss of this smart singer. Oh Sorry, he 'll never sing again.

Raju Lama: A handsome hunk with appealing dimple, with a voice that kills thousands of girls. Raju Lama was a very loved and respected singer, a wonderful friend for colleuges and an idol for aspirings.

I still haven't recovered from the shock of the news of his leaving the nation. There's a sense of void that probably can never be filled. A few month back, the fans of Raju Lama wrote me for his online interview. My emotion would not allow me to okey and I had the privilege of denying the request,as I always believe he is a cheap to logout of the nation , the love & attention we always gave. Raju Lama is not an exception but there are many like Bibek Shrestha, Prem raja Mahat, Sunil Uprety, Sunil Bardewa, Harish Mathema, Rabin Shrestha, Sanjeev and Sharisma Pradhan, Sapana Shree, Yaman Shrestha and so on...

I know this list is not enough. I equally know these betryal sons and daughters of "Nepal Aama" won't resist to leave the nation for those lurcative dollars, pounds and green card. They are living the nation aside in the name of Political instability, economic dryness and blah ..blah... but one thing is sure if there are any spoilsports who chose to stawy, let me assure them, they aren't missed. You can't hold past bookies and clappings forever.

  1. You have your own reasons to stay back and others may have reasons beyond your comprehension of leaving. People have always moved around. Left home for other places. Why would you want to hold that against artists like Raju Lama - and others that you have named.

Why not give others the benefit of the doubt, and as you yourself put it, 'with a voice that kills', just enjoy it, no matter where that comes from?
